After a lackluster performance at the first debate, Obama came out trying to show a more stern side in the second presidential debate. Before the second debate, Obama was leading Romney almost 10 points in swing states like Ohio. After the debate, that gap quickly shrank. Here’s an analysis of why:

Offshore drilling has once again come to the forefront of debate and discussion. It is time to face the controversy head on: to drill or not to drill? The only logical answer to that question is to drill, baby, drill.  

It’s that time again—the Republican Presidential primaries are upon us. From Iowa to Florida, the Republican candidates have laid everything out on the table for the American nation.

Since September 17 of this year, protesters have occupied much of lower Manhattan, primarily Wall Street and Zucotti Park, demanding the end to corporate greed and a return to “true” democracy.

The American nation faces difficult times. With a struggling economy and high unemployment rates, many Americans face loss and hardship. Born out of these difficult times, the Tea Party and the Occupy Wall Street movements arose to try to turn the economy around. However, the movements are disparate with two very different motives and strategies. 

Unemployment at 9%.  A national debt at $15 trillion dollars (100% of GDP).  A burst housing bubble.  A budget crunch so severe that it has threatened to fling the United States back into a double-dip recession.  And yet, in the midst of all that financial chaos, the wealth in the United States has miraculously doubled in the last thirty years.
